Crystal: Stylist and Creator
The peaks, valleys, rivers and deserts of the Rocky Mountains have called to me since I was a girl growing up in the Midwest. I finally put down roots in Denver about a decade ago, I then started to explore Colorado and the surrounding states immediately, taking every opportunity I could to go further and further into the wild. I started Wild Brides because I found myself uniquely suited for this project. It combines my two greatest passions, the outdoors and my career. Professionally I’m a boutique salon owner and have worked with brides for over 15 years. With Wild Brides I am able to see their vision come to life start to finish with an epic adventure.
Kendra: Stylist and Magician
This woman. She’s a deep ocean of thoughtfulness, caring and wanderlust. She anticipates your needs before you ever even realize or express them, she listens intensely to your vision to articulate it perfectly and can guide you into your day to give you confidence on the mountain. She joined the Wild Brides team in 2023 after years of working and training alongside Crystal and has brought so much joy to brides since then! When she’s not out in the Wild she works behind the chair in Durango and spends her free time skateboarding, hiking and drinking loads of coffee with her mischievous beagle, Pawl.
Michelle: Stylist and Wanderer
A mutual love of music and adventure brought Crystal and Michelle together in 2020 on a beach in the Dominican Republic. Conversations circled around and they quickly found out that they both worked within the beauty industry. What wasn’t known before long conversations during lockdown from Crystal’s home in Colorado and Michelle’s in Washington was they would find not only a lasting friendship but a mentorship in all things beauty. Having started their careers on opposite ends of hair and makeup spectrum the middle was found together.
Michelle shares her life with an amazing husband, two beautiful children, and two amazing rescue Pitties in the Pacific Northwest. When she is not with her family she can find me deep in the woods on a movie set or on a beautiful bridge with a couple on their wedding day.

What sets Wild Brides apart is our willingness, and happiness, to be sure you feel beautiful start to finish no matter the distance. We understand the idea of a backcountry elopement can be immediately written off with the assumption that there’s no way hair and makeup could survive a strenuous adventure. But as experienced stylists we are here to expand your options. Not only are we your stylist, but we can also help be your Sherpa, your assistant and your “always carries extra granola bars” friend hiking out into the backcountry to make sure you feel beautiful and your day is magical. It’s very likely that you chose a backcountry elopement because of its simplicity, everything you need in a backpack. We can be there to make sure the simplicity and beauty remain the center of focus so you won’t have to worry.

I wanted to be happy and comfortable everyday so I decided to spend my time either in the wild or at The Wild Salon. My days are spent taking care of people’s needs, giving them the styles and tools to look great wherever their adventure takes them.
